FEBRUARY
February 4-6 - The Triangle Wine Experience is the Triangle and Carolina’s premier wine event encompassing wine tasting, dinners, and a Grand Gala with Fine Wine Auction over a three day period from February 4-6 in the Raleigh area. Winemakers from all over the world participate in this truly amazing event. February 6 – The 15th Annual Scout Troop #924 Charity Auction will be held Saturday evening at 1101 W. Raleigh St., Siler City, NC. A BBQ dinner will be served starting at 5 pm and an auction conducted by Rogers Auctioneers starts at 6:30 pm.
February 6 – The Daniel A. Okun Chapter of Engineers Without Borders at UNC will host the First Annual EWB-UNC Benefit Dinner and Auction. The event will be include a cocktail hour and catered dinner, live and silent auctions, and presentations by keynote speaker Dr. Jamie Bartram, students, and alumni. Proceeds support the group’s international projects focused on improving the quality of life for disadvantaged communities through sustainable engineering approaches. The event will be held at the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, 250 East Franklin Street, Chapel Hill.
February 11 – Reception and exhibition of works by photographer Charles Dennis. This event is open to the public with the proceeds from gallery and online sales of custom framed, limited edition prints directly benefiting Hospice of Wake County. February 13 - The 25th Anniversary of the Triangle Heart Ball will be held at 6:30 pm at the new Raleigh Convention Center, 500 Salisbury Street, Raleigh. February 16 – 9th Annual Fat Tuesday benefiting Meals on Wheels for Wake County will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center starting at 6 pm. The evening features a live and silent auction with unique items, a cajun-style buffet, and dancing to the sounds of the Raleigh-based band, Zydecopious. Celebrate Fat Tuesday in grand style. February 27 - 8th Annual Polar Party to Conquer Cancer benefits the American Cancer Society and will be held at Brier Creek Country Club, Raleigh from 7-10pm. February 28 – Cabin Fever Throwdown benefits Hospice of Wake County and will be held at the North Raleigh Hilton, 3415 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. March 4 – Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is an event especially for Triangle women. Held at the Carolina Club, the fundraiser benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill. This “ladies night out” event features pampering and indulgences including massage therapy, hair cuts, manicures, jewelry cleaning and makeovers. March 7 – Now in its 25th year, A Toast to the Triangle™ is Tammy Lynn Center’s premier fundraising event. Restaurants, beverage purveyors, in-kind donors, auction and raffle donors, and financial sponsors all team up to provide over 1,300 guests with an exciting evening of food, drinks, and friendly competition. Vote for your favorite restaurant in the People’s Choice Award. The evening will include a silent auction, live auction and raffles. Tickets are $100. March 7 - The excitement and glamour of Hollywood is coming to Raleigh on Oscar Night. Experience the thrills and surprises of the 82nd Academy Awards on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at 7pm at the Oscar Night America party at Theater in the Park. The event is one of 50 parties officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts that will be held across the country on Oscar Night. March 14 – NHL Hurricane’s Casino Night – Doug Warf, Director of Community Relations and Executive Director of the Carolina Hurricanes’ Kids ‘N Community Foundation, today announced that tickets are on sale now for the 2010 Carolina Hurricanes Casino Night and Wine Tasting. The annual event will take place March 14 at the RBC Center from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. There are 500 tickets available for Casino Night, priced at $200 ($115 is tax deductible), with all proceeds going to benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation, which supports children’s charities and educational programs throughout North Carolina.
March 19 – Butterfly Jazz Concert to benefit T.I.E. Resource Centers for victims of domestic abuse will be held at the Broad Street Cafe in Durham, NC. Details at 919-416-9707.

April 10 - Art A Thon for Haiti event will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center located at 500 South Salisbury Street in Raleigh, NC. There will be a silent auction from 6-8pm and beautiful reception with food generously donated by Centerplate Catering. This Black Tie Event (optional) will also include a live auction of artwork from 8:30-9:30 that has been donated from artists around the country! All proceeds from the event will go directly to Habitat for Humanity for Oxfam America and their relief efforts in Haiti. April 10 – ”April in Paris” is the theme of the Spring Gala benefiting Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills. The event will be held at the Pinehurst Country Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina. April 16 - The First Annual Spring Soiree benefiting National Students at AMF will be held April 16 from 7-10 pm at the Carolina Country Club, 2500 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. April 16 – The Tuxedo Cat Ball 2010 takes place on Friday, April 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Marbles Kids Museum. The theme of this year’s Ball is “Sweet Sixteen”, celebrating SAFE Haven’s sixteenth year, and will feature an elegant reception, and silent & live auctions of over 150 items including original works of art, jewelry, trips, gift certificates and many unusual cat-themed items. April 24 – Annual Fun In the Sun Charity Car Show by Corvettes International. May 15 – American Cancer Society’s Fuurst Annual Bark for Life will be held Saturday, May 15, at West Point on the Eno Amphitheatre. Pre-registration by April 13 is $20 and includes a t-shirt for the owner, a bandana for the dog, and one doggie bag of goodies. Each additional dog is $5. May 22 – Piedmont Opera’s 19th Annual Magnolia Ball will be an evening to remember. A Night in Venice, A Masked Ball will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Old Town Club. May 29 – North State Bank presents “Summer Salute” a beach party to benefit Hospice of Wake County. June 6 - An Evening with Judith Viorst Bookmarked! will conclude with a fundraising event, “An Evening with Judith Viorst,” on Sunday, June 6, in Kenan Recital Hall at Peace College in Raleigh. July 9-10 – The Jim Valvano Kids Klassic (JVKK) is an entertaining weekend to benefit pediatric cancer research, patient support and education at Duke Children’s. This two-day event includes a semi-formal dinner, silent auction, live auction and entertainment on Friday. On Saturday there will be a round of golf Duke University Golf Club and luncheon for the golfers’ followed by a cocktail party, awards presentation and dancing to the music of The Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os. October 2 – The 2010 Big Bad Ball benefiting Hospice of Wake County will be held Saturday, October 2rd from 7pm – 1am at the Capital City Club in Raleigh.
