Your support and participation in Alzheimer’s Walks throughout Eastern North Carolina will help us continue our mission to focus on North Carolina families dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. We invite you to join us as we walk together to carry a message of hope for those whose voices have been silenced by this disease. All funds raised by your efforts stay in North Carolina - to help provide programs and services to North Carolina families.

Our mission is carried out through the following:
Educational Outreach - Regional conferences and workshops for family and professional caregivers, community awareness programs, professional training for long term care providers, law enforcement, clergy and others.
Support - 800 Helpline, support groups for caregivers and those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, individual and family counseling and emergency respite.

The 9th annual Big Bad Ball (BBB) is a gala event to benefit Hospice of Wake County and is presented by the Young Executive Members of the Capital City Club! You can anticipate wonderful food from hor d’oeuvres to pasta and carving stations to a late night breakfast and everyone’s favorite desserts.
The 2010 Big Bad Ball will be held Saturday, October 2rd from 7pm – 1am at the Capital City Club in Raleigh. This black tie event is open to the entire community and the cost is $125 per person. On Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, Opening Night Benefit will be from 5 PM - 9 PM and will support the Autism Society of NC.
Friday & Saturday events will be from 10 AM – 7 PM & Sunday 10 AM – 5 PM

The First Annual Spring Soiree will be held April 16 from 7-10 pm at the Carolina Country Club, 2500 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. The event will include hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, silent auction, live auction items and live entertainment by the band, Back in Time. Cocktail attire required. Tickets are $75 in advance or $100 at the door and include complimentary no-wait admission to the official Afterparty at Solas. National Students of AMF is a non-profit headquartered in Raleigh that supports college students grieving the illness or death of a loved one. Live and Silent Auction ~ This is a great opportunity for art appreciators! On Saturday, April 10 from 6p to 10p this event will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center located at 500 S. Salisbury Street in Raleigh. To start off the evening there will be a silent auction from 6-8 pm and reception with food generously donated by Centerplate Catering. This Black Tie Event (optional) will also include a live auction of artwork from 8:30-9:30 that has been donated from artists around the country!
Seize the chance to buy some fabulous art while donating to a worthwhile cause! All proceeds from the event will go directly to Habitat for Humanity and their relief efforts in Haiti. Dogs of all types are invited to join the American Cancer Society at the “Furrst” Annual Bark For Life of Durham County. The event celebrates cancer survivorship, honors those people lost to cancer, and provides an opportunity for dog lovers and our canine friends to support the Society’s efforts to save lives and create more birthdays.
The Bark For Life is set for Saturday, May 15, at West Point on the Eno Amphitheatre. Pre-registration by April 13 is $20 and includes a t-shirt for the owner, a bandana for the dog, and one doggie bag of goodies. Each additional dog is $5. On-site registration is $25 with t-shirts & bandanas while supplies last.
