North Carolina Opera June 12 2010 Museum of Art 8pm

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

OPERA IS BACK.
Opera About Town is one the North Carolina Opera’s many community programs that features promising singers—perhaps tomorrow’s opera stars—made possible through money raised through a ‘Fund A Future’ at last years’ Gala by Spotlight Benefit Auctions.
In addition to this there will be many stars of major opera houses around the globe, performing highlights from the upcoming season, other opera favorites, familiar American standards and hits from Broadway. This is the first of the soon-to-be-announced, monthly opera series at the market.

The newly formed North Carolina Opera is poised to raise the curtain on a thrilling season of fully staged opera productions, concerts, and a temping menu of events across the Triangle.

A more complete company, the result of the recent merger of The Opera Company of North Carolina and Capital Opera Raleigh, North Carolina Opera will offer lush main stage productions, as well as performances in innovative venues across the region. Audiences will hear singers of international renown, as well as the finest emerging talent from across the state. Young singers will find a nurturing environment where they can get both the training and the on-stage experience they need to develop into full-blown professionals. And engaging, school-based performances are guaranteed to garner new opera fans of all ages.

Join us this season and help make North Carolina Opera the place to go for all things opera.
