Pay-it-Foward Dinner Dance for Cancer Patients Sept 11 7 pm

Dinner and dancing at the lovely Renaissance Hotel in North Hills, Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010. All for a good cause: charity event for Pay-it-Forward, the Caring Community Foundation’s annual fundraiser to help defray expenses for cancer patients. This is the 10th annual Pay-it-Forward dinner dance. Mr. Potato Head is the band for the evening. There will be a silent auction as well as a live auction.

2010 A Pair To Remember to Benefit Wake Teen ~ Sept 17

 A Pair to Remember      is Wake Teen’s annual signature fundraiser and the Triangle’s favorite fashion forward event designed for ladies who lunch and for women to put their hearts and “soles” into enriching the lives of youth.

On Friday, September 17, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. -  Renaissance Hotel at North Hills Raleigh, NC transforms into the exclusive backdrop for an afternoon at “A Pair to Remember”. Ladies will have an opportunity to enjoy lighter finger foods, tarts, fruits and beverages as they browse A Pair’s exclusive silent auction featuring exquisite jewelry, spa services and destination & entertainment packages. Guests who purchase a spa ticket at the event will also get to indulge in special pampering including chair massage, mini-facials, etc while enjoying complimentary champagne while they shop.  Offering a sneak preview of their latest spring lines –  several exclusive clothing, shoe, fashion and jewelry boutiques will be on hand to create A Pair’s first ever Boutique Showcase !! Merchants from the Boutique Showcase will also produce a wonderful fashion show for our guests. In the spirit of the day, hand-picked models, teens that have benefitted from the programs and services of Wake Teen, will be spotlighted in the show along with the latest in spring fashions and shoes. Yes ladies, the A Pair’s popular male models will be returning this year to support Wake Teen as well as help the Boutiques showcase their items and insure that A Pair’s special live auction doesn’t get overlooked either!! Easter Seals UCP 4th annual ‘Ride Without Limits’ Sept 18-19

Easter Seals UCP (United Cerebral Palsy) is gearing up for its 4th annual Ride Without Limits two-day cycling event from September 18 – 19th. This annual fundraiser benefits critical programs and services for children and adults with disabilities and reflects Easter Seals UCP’s mission by including riders of all levels and abilities.The event, which begins at Camp Kanata in Wake Forest, NC, takes cyclists through some of North Carolina’s most beautiful countryside’s. Riders can choose between a 38 mile, 64 mile, or 100 mile route.

Each entry requires a $35 registration fee and requests that each participant raise at least $250. The first 250 registrants will be provided lodging at Camp Kanata, all meals and an event t-shirt.

Opening Doors for Autism September 25 7pm

he second annual Opening Doors for Autism fundraiser is hosted in a local home that’s currently for sale. Each room is decorated by local furniture companies or decorators donating their time and expertise.

Last year’s event raised more than $30,000 to support the Autism Society. This year, the group hopes at least to match that number.

 The event also will feature a silent auction and an exhibition of pictures from local photographer Charles Gupton’s “The Impact of Autism” collection, with live music, food and drinks available for attendees.

The Big Bad Ball – Hospice of Wake County – October 2

The 9th annual Big Bad Ball (BBB) is a gala event to benefit Hospice of Wake County and is presented by the Young Executive Members of the Capital City Club!  You can anticipate wonderful food from hor d’oeuvres to pasta and carving stations to a late night breakfast and everyone’s favorite desserts.

The 2010 Big Bad Ball will be held Saturday, October 2rd from 7pm – 1am at the Capital City Club in Raleigh. This black tie event is open to the entire community and the cost is $125 per person. Bowties for Bandaids Benefit – May 1

Spring Soiree benefits National Students of AMF – April 16

The First Annual Spring Soiree will be held April 16 from 7-10 pm at the Carolina Country Club, 2500 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.  The event will include hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, silent auction, live auction items and live entertainment by the band, Back in Time. Cocktail attire required. A Winter’s Tale

Methodist Home for Children will be hosting its 13th annual charity gala, “A Winter’s Tale,” at the Raleigh Convention Center.  An evening that benefits Methodist Home for Children, this black tie affair will honor individuals and organizations committed to children, youth and families and will feature a live and silent auction, an elegant dinner, dancing and a keynote address by celebrated sports writer, Don Yaeger.  Matt Holiday will be the auctioneer for the evening.

With 16 books to his credit, including four that made the New York Times best-seller list, Don Yeager has spent his career writing about our generation’s most celebrated athletes.  As a former Sports Illustrated associate editor, Don has witnessed the personal and professional struggles of many famous athletes, and he knows how faith and perseverance can overcome adversity and lead to greatness.
