Art for Haiti – Art Auction and Gala – April 10

Live and Silent Auction ~ This is a great opportunity for art appreciators!  On Saturday, April 10 from 6p to 10p this event will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center located at 500 S.  Salisbury Street in Raleigh.   To start off the evening there will be a silent auction from 6-8 pm and reception with food generously donated by Centerplate Catering.  This Black Tie Event (optional) will also include a live auction of artwork from 8:30-9:30 that has been donated from artists around the country!

Seize the chance to buy some fabulous art while donating to a worthwhile cause!  All proceeds from the event will go directly to Habitat for Humanity and their relief efforts in Haiti.  Tickets in advance for the event are $45 and can be purchased online at http://www.jerrysartarama.com/community/Art-Auction-and-Gala/ Tickets at the door will be $50. Furrst Annual Bark For Live April 13

Dogs of all types are invited to join the American Cancer Society at the “Furrst” Annual Bark For Life of Durham County. The event celebrates cancer survivorship, honors those people lost to cancer, and provides an opportunity for dog lovers and our canine friends to support the Society’s efforts to save lives and create more birthdays.
The Bark For Life is set for Saturday, May 15, at West Point on the Eno Amphitheatre. Pre-registration by April 13 is $20 and includes a t-shirt for the owner, a bandana for the dog, and one doggie bag of goodies. Each additional dog is $5. On-site registration is $25 with t-shirts & bandanas while supplies last.

Sandhills Habitat Gala – Pinehurst Country Club – April 10

Jim Valano Kids Klassic July 9-10, 2010

2010 marks the Silver Anniversary of the Jim Valvano Kids Klassic…25 years  of making a difference in the lives of children with life-threatening diseases.  Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center known as a place for providing the expertise required to successfully diagnose, treat and perform research for children afflicted with cancer.   Our pediatric programs depends on the generosity of our many friends and partners to remain at the top of the field.  With the rapid changes in today’s health care industry and mounting pressures to find a cure, the need for funding from events like the Jim Valvano Kids Klassic is more urgent than ever.  As Coach Valvano said, “Never, never give up.”   At Duke Children’s, we’re not giving up until the battle against pediatric cancer is won.

The Jim Valvano Kids Klassic (JVKK) is an entertaining weekend to benefit pediatric cancer research, patient support and education at Duke Children’s. Cree Habitat Bull Moon Bike Ride Sat. July 10

Participtate in ‘The Cree Habitat Bull Moon Bike Ride’ on  Saturday, July 10Join Wool E. Bull on Sat., July 10 for the Cree Habitat Bull Moon Ride benefiting Habitat of Durham and sponsored by Cree. This 18-mile (or 10-mile) ride for cyclists of all abilities starts at 8 PM at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Meander past the sights and sounds of downtown Durham at sunset and return on the American Tobacco Trail to a celebration at the ballpark as the moon rises!

Ride Details:
$30 pre-registration per adult includes FREE Tshirt
$15 pre-registration per child (under 18, min. age is 10) included FREE Tshirt

Event day registration available with additional $5 registration cost
18 mile route (scenic downtown Durham and the American Tobacco Trail)
10 mile route option available
12 mph avg. rolling speed
